Fortified rice means nutritious rice. It has more amount of iron, vitamin B-12, folic acid than common rice. Apart from this, fortified rice containing zinc, vitamin A, vitamin B can also be specially prepared. Fortified rice is eaten mixed with common rice. Fortified rice looks exactly like normal rice. They taste better too. According to the Food Safety Regulator of India FSSAI, eating fortified rice increases the amount of nutrients in the food and maintains good health.
